A Sokoto-based academic, Arzika, has warned that the escalating conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel could trigger far-reaching global consequences, including the risk of a wider world war. The warning comes amid intensifying hostilities following coordinated military actions in the region.
On Saturday, the United States and Israel launched a major joint offensive targeting Iranian military and strategic installations. The strikes reportedly hit multiple cities across Iran, including key command centres and government facilities, despite ongoing diplomatic engagements between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear programme.
Arzika expressed concern that the scale and timing of the attacks could further destabilise an already fragile region, warning that any sustained escalation may draw in additional global powers. He noted that prolonged confrontation between the parties involved could disrupt international security and economic stability.
The latest developments mark a significant turn in tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear activities, raising fears of broader geopolitical repercussions if diplomatic channels fail to contain the crisis.
