
The youth leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Oyejide Sunkanmi, popularly known as SUCO, has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Monday, Sunkanmi submitted his resignation in a letter addressed to PDP chairman Abayomi Tella. He expressed gratitude to the party for his political development and requested understanding for his decision to defect.
The letter reads: “I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the Ogun State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

ADVERTISE WITH US“It has been a remarkable and fulfilling 12-year journey. I am sincerely grateful to the leadership of the party for the opportunity to serve in various capacities during my time in the PDP. The experience has shaped me politically and personally, and for that, I remain thankful.
“I wish to express my profound appreciation to Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, Hon. Abayomi Tella, Chief Robert Adenaike, Hon. Remi Odubote, Chief Olumide Aderinokun, Prince Lekan Tejuosho, Chief Mrs. Olabosipo Ogunsan, Ambassador Folake Marcus Bello, Hon. Abiodun Ogunremi, my brother Prince Sunday Sholarin, and Hon. Yussuf Oshunrinde for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout my stay in the party.”
Admitting that his decision might cause disappointment, he asked for understanding, noting that “decisions such as this are never taken lightly.”
When contacted, the youth leader from Ibara/Onisasa Ward 16 in Abeokuta North Local Government told DAILY POST that he had moved to the APC on “personal grounds.”
