Hundreds of youths on Thursday staged a protest in Kaduna, demanding accountability and transparency from authorities over allegations linked to the administration of former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai.

The protesters, who marched through parts of the state capital, called on security and anti-graft agencies to ensure that El-Rufai remains available for questioning over the prolonged disappearance of activist Dadiyata, insisting that justice must not be swept aside by silence.

Beyond the issue of Dadiyata, the youths also demanded a comprehensive probe into claims that about $350 million in Kaduna State funds went missing during the previous administration.

They argued that the pursuit of transparency and good governance in Kaduna State would be incomplete until all public finances are fully accounted for.

They accused Bashir Saidu, Jafaru, and Hafiz Bayero of allegedly sponsoring counter-protests to shield the former governor from scrutiny, and called for their immediate arrest.

According to the protesters, any attempt to divert public attention would not deter their resolve to demand a cleaner, more accountable Kaduna State, as they vowed to continue pressing for justice and transparency from relevant authorities.
