
Former media aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the largest political party in Africa.
Ahmad made the statement in reaction to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State joining the APC.
In a post on X, he noted that with Fintiri’s defection, the APC now controls 30 of the 36 state governorships. He wrote: “With Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party now boasts 30 out of the 36 governors in the federation, firmly cementing its position as the largest political party in Africa.”

ADVERTISE WITH USFinitiri had announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to APC in a statewide broadcast on Friday.
The governor defected alongside his entire cabinet and all PDP officials.
According to the governor, his action was for the developmental interest of the people of Adamawa State.
