The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied any involvement in the reported shooting incident involving members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State, describing claims that it was responsible as “baseless.”
In a statement signed by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka on February 25, 2026, the party urged law enforcement authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The APC statement came in response to a press release by the ADC, which alleged that the ruling party had orchestrated the attack. While condemning the use of violence in politics, the APC called on the police and other security agencies to scrutinize the ADC, its leaders, and members, highlighting reported internal clashes and disputes over party leadership as potential factors in the Edo incident.

“Our Party roundly condemns the reported shooting incident in Edo State,” Morka said. “Investigation of this incident should begin with a thorough scrutiny of the ADC, its leaders and members as prime suspects.”
The statement further emphasized that the APC had no involvement in the incident and was focused on recent electoral successes in the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers, and Kano states, noting that the party remained committed to governance and national development under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The APC also thanked Nigerians for their support in recent elections, describing the votes in FCT, Kano, and Rivers as a “vote of confidence” in the party and its leadership.
